What is Therapy?

Please note that I am not taking on any new clients as I will be going on maternity leave from July. I will be back taking on new clients from January 2025.

Therapy, also known as counselling or psychotherapy, is the process of meeting with a therapist to resolve issues and to deeper understand yourself. Therapy takes place one to one and it gives you the chance to talk about anything you need to talk about!

The therapists role is to work with you and reflect, support you and help you to delve deeper into your feelings. Therapists lead with empathy and create a safe space for you to explore yourself. As a Creative Arts Psychotherapist I may give you the option to delve deeper using creative tools such as drawing, movement, play-doe… the list is endless. This is only a tool and will not dominate the sessions if you do not want them too.

What will sessions with Annie look like?

Sessions will be 60minutes.

Online:
Online sessions take place on Zoom. This means that you will require internet connection and I do ask that cameras are switched on. This option is great for anyone who lives outside of the UK, not in the Lancaster area, have transport issues or mobility issues.

In Person:
I am based in Lancaster UK and have a lovely space where we can meet in person. Address is given prior to the first session and I ask that you arrive on time for your sessions.

I can also do a hybrid of in person and online.

I recommend that we have at least 12 sessions but really we would continue to check in about this as the sessions progress. This is led by you with my support.

Pricing

  • 20 minute introductory session: FREE

  • 60 Minute weekly or fortnightly sessions: £50

Payment is made in advance of the session by bank transfer.

  • We will then book in your first full session!

  • I will send you paperwork that will need signing and a therapeutic contract to look over before we begin.

  • And that’s it! We will continue to check in about sessions and how they are going for you as the weeks go on.
